Sling Wearing Ninny Poops

Are you guys up on the Mortin drama?? Allow me to share if you're not aware.

Motrin had an ad about baby wearing and how women are essentially breaking their baby wearing backs.

View the ad here:

Well America's moms got PISSED and started blogging and tweeting and tweeting and blogging and coming together to be heard. Baby wearing bloggers and tweeters brought Motrin to it's knees. That's right Motrin...you're not going to tell baby wear-ers that their muscles must get sore and get away with it!! The nerve of some of these companies, right!?!

As if there aren't enough offensive programs on tv promoting sex, violence, drug and alcohol abuse, and crude language...Motrin had to go and add THIS to the mix!?! I didn't take this lying down...I mean I did because it's more comfortable watching tv that way...but I wasn't going to let Motrin have the last laugh. I responded personally, with the following video

:

I'm pretty sure that video is was the stick that broke the camel's back for Motrin. I'm glad I could do my part and I'm glad the world realizes us moms are a force to be reckoned with.

Now, Lindsay with Suburban Turmoil (who I love), put up a video to rally the Motrin moms against a new, equally offensive target...click here to see her video!!

Oh, Kat ... I may have tiddled myself a little bit.

Yup.

I did.

BTW, I am not a big fan of teaching kids to walk, either. I am an even BIGGER fan of not teaching them to TALK.

The only thing that would have made that ninny poop video better is if you had found someway to sling all three of them on you. Too funny!

I watched your video twice because it was so funny!

Ahahahahaa, you tell them!!

Yeah, what a bunch of aholes. I bet the Baby Bjorn company was pissed.

Hahhahahahahah! This totally cracked me up! You are so funny. My son is just learning to walk and I am NOT happy about it. I tell people that I knock him down all the time (joking, joking), but they never get it. They just stare...

I hadnt heard about all this, but thats a great video!! HA

Your video is hilarious! The pre-schooler in the carrier has got to be the funniest thing I've seen all day and then she just hangs there and cooperates. I love it!

As for the Motrin video, I didn't really find it that offensive, nor did I find it funny but I think people just like to overreact to stuff. I say whatever, I buy plain old ibuprofen anyway, I should also add that I wore The Son a couple times and frankly, it did hurt my back. ha ha!

When I first saw that ad I was all "like we haven't been wearing our kids since the beginning of time?" How did we ever manage to wear them for that nine-month gestational thing? I mean really. And babies as fasion accessories making us look Official. Guh-reat advertising ploy there. Not.
Some boy thought that one up. Stinky ad.

I am there with you. I have found a way to strap my 3 babies on my back and my 4 year old on my back so that they are always with me. I never need my space, never. I like my kids with me all the time. And I don't hurt at all. My back, neck and shoulders are not sore. I can just cancel my chiropractor's appointment right now.

Why didn't they call out dads in this ad too? Both my husband and I wear our son.
Damn ninny-poops! Or did you say poots? Lol.

LMAO!! I have to wipe the tears, i'm laughing so hard at your video! That was great!!

You know...I think carrying my son around now would hurt my back...and he's probably the size of Laina...and she's much older than him. But good video. Lovin' it you sling wearing ninny poo!

That was such a cute video, I love how she wanted you to keep rocking her and you were trying to be serious!!!

I never use motrin anyway and I don't have kids.

LuckyMe said...

YOU ROCK! Literally and figuratively. Great job on the video and your daughter is so cute and cooperative, like "whatever you say, mom...... then can I have my cookies?"

Shanna said...

My husband walked past my computer while I watched your video and he thought you were Lisa Nova LOL :)

I'm pretty sure he meant it as a compliment...

Elizabeth said...

i just busted a gut...and told my husband i feel sorry for him that he's not a "mommy" blogger...

and for the record...once i have baby #2...i'm going to wear him or her even more than i did #1! :-)

what in the hell? That was the stupidest freaking ad campaign that made no sense was long and tedious and just a bad idea.
Heads needed to roll.
YOURS ON THE OTHER HAND was just as sublimely sarcastic as you are!! I love your freaking attitude!
P.S. Maybe you should put your daughter in commercials she did awesome!!

All right, if you had posted your Writer's Workshop prompts TOMORROW, I would have had to say that THIS was the last time I laughed really hard. Oh my goodness - I was sitting over here in stitches just laughing. I couldn't help it. You're absolutely hilarious! Thanks for the laughs, and keep the funny stuff comin' - your blog is awesome!

I'm pretty sure she's beyond the weight-related stress rating for that device. You may have just voided your warranty, ma'am.

Cute!

However, might I suggest a Babykeeper for your little darlings?

Then you could just hang them on a door somewhere...

Hmmm... I'd heard of the video and known that there were a lot of upset people, but I hadn't seen the video. Now I've seen it. Really? REALLY that's what people were upset about? Ummm, ok.

I like your theory of not letting them walk. It didn't work so well in my household, but maybe I should have gone with your theory!

Tiffany said...

You are the funniest person alive.

Lula, Heather and I are laughing so FREAKIN' hard.

I want to kiss you all over. And over again.

If this doesn't get you on Ellen, I don't know what will.

We want to call you.

I actually knew a woman who wore her four year old in a carrier. Ewww..I'm sorry that is really weird! As for the Motrin commercial, I am thinking women need to find something else to be offended about. There are major issues going on in the world that we could be using our twittering and twattering time to address.

Your video----hilarious, I may try to wear my 200lb, seventeen year old son in a carrier on my 5"2 frame. Do you think that would make my back hurt? I figure if I wear him like that, not only will he not be able to walk....he won't be able to drive either. Brilliant!

GoTime said...

I can't believe how well behaved laina was that whole time! she didn't squirm or say a word!!!

baby said...

I can't believe what a good girl laina was that entire time. she didnt even squirm - she must have been wondering what the heck was going on!! Poooor maile!!! oh our little baby - i hate sick babies!! And kainoa....hahahahahhahahahahhahaha oh my goodness is hair?!!! ahahhahahahahahhahahha

Christie said...

Hilarious! Why teach a child to walk when you can wear them? Hahahaha

jenn3 said...

Come to think of it, why do we encourage them to learn to walk? My two year old would be so much easier to deal with at Walmart if I still had to carry her...

Love the video. Too funny!

Jamie said...

I'm not a mom but I think Motrin has a death wish calling mom's "tired and crazy." Great video response....Love it!

Before I forget I'm visiting from SITS. Have a great weekend!

Very well done. What did you bribe your daughter with?

Marrdy said...

Sling wearing mini poops? I am choking on my Diet Coke! I know my back would ache if I carried my baby around in a sling, but then he's about 4 inches taller than me. Then again I could keep track of him and protect him from evil teenager girls.

Laurie said...

Your video is hilarious! Well done, my dear. Take that Motrin!

Katie said...
